Vulnerability found in some OS X configurations:
A vulnerability has been found in some default configurations of Mac OS X, according to Security Focus.

First it was Symantec saying that malicious attacks on the Mac are on the rise, now Security Focus is jumping on the bandwagon, drawing attention to a well known vulnerability in Mac OS X 10.0. Keep in mind that this is an OS which is nearly 4 years old now and is probably in use by less than 10 people in the world. Of those 10, I doubt ANY of them use it for a web server, which is the ONLY way this vulnerability can be exploited!

This is beginning to get out of hand. I’ve yet to see any virus that affects OS X, and have only heard rumors of a couple of vulnerabilities - which were resolved quickly, mind you. I think all the hoopla amounts to little more than a few knuckle-heads vying for a little publicity at the expense of paranoid Windows switchers, who have had to wrestle with all sorts of trouble for too long.

So, if you’re a Windows user thinking of switching to Mac, pay no mind to the goof-balls trying to hype a non-existent problem. Rest assured that you’ll have very little (if any) trouble at all. Unix has been around for a long time and has proven itself to be virtually bulletproof.
