"Cast" in the Leading Role

Thankfully, the swelling has gone down enough in the elbow to let my doctor finally cast my arm. It goes from mid-bicep down to the wrist. This is a good thing in that I get to have my left hand back, in a limited fashion. I missed my left hand terribly while it was away.

I still can’t write too well, but the hand is in the perfect position to allow me to type. That’s all that matters, really — being able to type. I didn’t realize just how much I relied on being able to keyboard until the past two weeks.

So, four weeks of lugging around a big chunk of fiberglass at my side, then a week or two of physical therapy. That puts me back in full action around the beginning of August. I can handle that. It’s just about that time when summer starts getting good in HB. Heck, I may even be able to get some surfing in this season too.
