Cache Out X Intel Testers Still Sought

02.22.06 | Coding | 1 Comment | Permalink

Just a quick bump on a previous post here…

If you’ve been lucky enough to get your Intel Mac already, and would like to help me out by giving the latest build of Cache Out X a try so I know it’s golden for x86 showtime, now is your chance. Drop me a line over on the contact page if you’re interested.

For those who’ve been waiting on the COX update, I’m shooting for release this coming Saturday afternoon, whether I get testers or not.

Bow to the Power of MS SQL

It’s been a little over two weeks now since my duties changed for the day job. I’ve learned lots of new things and have a better grip on the overall big picture of the company than I ever had before — which is way cool (job security). I’ve moved from a nice spacious broom closet (literally) in the Art Department, to a Dilbertesque cubicle office a third the size in the IS Development group. I’m now officially part of the web development team, and my first task is to become the resident expert in MS SQL.

Now, I’ve been a staunch believer/supporter/advocate of Filemaker for many, many years. But today I must publicly proclaim that I’m officially blown away with the power of MS SQL 2000. I was able (as a newbie mind you) to pull data together for a report in about a tenth the time that it would’ve taken me in FMP (and that’s with years of experience). Yeah… some cool stuff here. And — I don’t even mind doing the whole Windows thing either (never thought I’d say that).

Anyway, just a quick post to say “I’m still here — and yes, Yasu is being worked on, just not as often as I’d like it to be.” If I can only get the next month or two out of the way…
