OutPost 1.0 Build 9 is on TestFlight
Jim Mitchell 2 min readA big thanks goes out to @ilyess for reaching out and letting me know that OutPost was having challenges authorizing on sites that use IndieKey.id as a login identity. This has been fixed in both the macOS app (v1.2.1) and the latest TestFlight release (build 9).
What changed
- When you sign in, your site’s login page now sends you back through a web page at jimmitchell.dev, which then hands you to OutPost. It used to send you straight to the app. Some sign-in services, including IndieKey, refuse to send you straight to an app, so their users couldn’t sign in. They should be able to now.
What to test
- Sign in with a new account, especially if you use IndieKey or sign-in failed for you before. After you approve on your site, you should land back in OutPost and be signed in. If you get stuck on a page instead, tap its “tap here” link and tell me what happened.
- Check accounts you’ve already added. They should keep working as before, with no need to sign in again.
Known issue (still)
- If you switch to another site while writing a post, the formatting bar can disappear. I’m still working on it.
If you’d like to join the TestFlight, the link is https://jimmitchell.dev/testflight. You can send feedback from the TestFlight app with a screenshot, or reply to me directly. Thanks for testing!
