If you’ve been giving OutPost for Mac a spin, or have already made it part of your blogging workflow, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’ve not gotten any substantial feedback on the app so far, so it must be perfect as is. 🤣

My plan is to make the current version the “real” public release unless there’s a show stopper issue so I can focus on the iOS work.

Okay… A bunch of rapid-fire changes to OutPost over the last couple of days. Check out the change log to see everything that’s been fixed. The big news is OutPost will return a Pika feed properly. 🎉 Pika peeps, give it a go and report back.

For those who are curious, I’m working on an OutPost update to make working with blogs that only advertise the Micropub protocol (like Pika, Blot, Hugo, and Dobrado) more pleasant. Expect an update sometime this weekend – maybe even tomorrow morning…or possibly tonight.

Hah! I just got an email asking me to run the tech for the next quarterly meeting this coming Monday. It would seem I have permanently added an extra area of responsibility to my job description… Fun times.

Oof. This is a crammed week of stuff. We’re having new floors installed and the house is wrecked, I have a dentist appointment this afternoon, an after-hours application deployment for the day job tomorrow evening, Thursday’s calendar is jam packed, and then an eye exam Friday after work. What was I thinking?

I just received a slew of budget review meeting invites from my group VP. This is one of the ickier parts of my role now.

We finally took the recliner chair that I rehabbed in after heart surgery to Goodwill today. It’s weird that it’s not here anymore, but it was time to get back to normal and fully close that chapter of my life.

Doing some OutPost testing this afternoon, I was pleased to discover that the app kind of works with Pika.page too, though not quite as feature complete as it is for some other blogs.

I spun up a site to centralize all of my Mac/iOS apps this afternoon, mostly to have a place for the necessary pages OutPost will need for iOS Test Flight and Mac beta test distribution. We should be close (I hope) to making it publicly available.

The apps are working great for me with nearly everything I’ve posted lately using OutPost.

My wife and I decided to watch Normal over the long weekend, not knowing anything about the movie other than it starred Bob Odenkirk, who, of course, everyone loves.

In hindsight, we were expecting something a little different I think. Nonetheless, we ended up enjoying it enough to finish watching, mostly due to the absurdity. The gore wasn’t really our thing, but it was an hour and a half filled.
