The all-hands event is done. Some minor glitches, but considering there was zero opportunity given for a dry-run, I think it turned out okay. It’s funny to hear conversations around me now that I’m back at my desk. Everyone has an opinion. I’m making a list of the haters so I can recommend they do the job next time.

The AV experts came in this morning to review my setup for the all-hands meeting tomorrow morning. Both gave it a thumbs up and actually complimented me on my work. Feather, cap, say hello.
I managed to get myself voluntold to be the person who sets up and runs tech for a company all-hands meeting next week because of the fact that I know the difference between an XLR and RCA cable. That means today will be a guessing game of what the previous person did to make these things happen. Oh, and I have to keep the seven meetings I already had on calendar for the day too.
I updated my site this morning to begin using the first five words of posts that don’t have a title as a slug (similar to how Micro.blog behaves), rather than using a numeric post id. I think the URLs look better this way.
I’ve been exclusively using my Keychron K3 keyboard for all typing for the last month, shuttling it back and forth to work with me. I forgot it at home today and had to use my work Apple keyboard instead. I forgot how much I like the feel of it. I think a switch back to this keyboard is in order.
Apologies to anyone who might have seen a bunch of posts in my RSS feed yesterday. I was working on making Clodd CMS fully Micropub compliant and running the work through the Micropub.rocks test cases.
I keep hoping that one day the iOS engineering team will quietly sneak in a setting that allows us minimalists to completely hide the Home Screen dock, or at the very least, turn off the background for it. I know it’ll never happen, but a guy can dream can’t he?
I’m working on some new additions to Cache Out that I hope to release soon. The first is a setting to relaunch all browsers that were open before cleaning, and the second setting lets a user bypass their choice of options when clicking the Enable All button. I’ll be adding support for two or three requested browsers too.
A couple of automative milestones I neglected to mention from the weekend… First, my 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid hit an average of 43 mpg after sitting at 42.9 forever. Second, the loan for it is now fully paid off. This will be the last car I own.

Today is a milestone date. One full year since heart surgery.
Life has returned to normal for the most part. The only real lingering issue I have is the occasional swelling of my left ankle.
I’m thankful for each and every one of those seconds. It means my heart is still pumping.
